A grand finale

The Sam Houston State University Theater and Dance Department will present the Dance Spectrum in Concert on Sunday, April 29 on the grounds of the Sam Houston Museum.The concert is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and is free. Everyone is invited to attend.A Hawaiian theme luau will follow the concert, with authentic cuisine catered by Hula Halau Ohana Elikapeka. Tickets for the meal are $12 and can be reserved by calling 294-1875.The Dance Ensemble will present a variety of shows, including jazz and tap dances accompanied by the SHSU Jazz Ensemble. Traditional hula dances performed to live drumming and contemporary dances performed to spoken word will also be featured. The program will also feature the Musical Theater Ensemble, the Huntsville High School Band and the Grenadier Guard.In addition, youth groups from the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church will perform faith-inspired step and drill routines and the SHSU Soul Lifters, Greater Zion and New Zion choirs will sing traditional and contemporary gospel music.For more information, please call 294-1875.
