Congratulation BearKat

Congratulation BearKats!

On Friday January 21, 2003 at around 8:45p.m, my family and I were sitting in our living room watching a college basketball game between the Gators from the University of Florida and our BearKats from Sam Houston State University. Abut one minute into the game, the first points was scored. It was a three point shot from the left corner by Sam Houston own Eddy Barlow. I jump off the couch in joy as seem it was a last second shot that has won the national championship.I was happy for the shots that Barlow had made, but the real joy I was having been just sitting at home with my family watching my school play in the NCAA tournament for the very first time in history. It was a very joyous moment and I think that every SHSU students and alumnus should be proud of this great accomplishment by our men basketball team. This year men basketball team has work really hard to give this school it best season so far in this school long athletic history and because of this I think they deserve a special congratulation. This team also deserves to be mention if not the best, but one of the all time best athletic team ever assemble at SHSU.To coach Marlin and his coaching staff, thanks for the job well done. To all the seniors on the team, we hope that you had a wonderful stay here at SHSU and we wish you all the best of luck in you all future endeavors. To the returning players, hope you all have a wonderful off season and hope to see you all again next year for another run at the NCAA tournament. And to all you BEARKAT fans, hope to see you all filling up the seats at the Johnson Coliseum next year to support our men and women basketball team. We all know what kind of impact a great home crowd has on a game outcome. If you don’t, just check out the last home game against SFA (Axe dem Jacks). Our attendance plays a big part in the victory. So let fill up those seats at the Coliseum, so that we can have another perfect home record. Once again congratulation to our men basketball team for a wonderful season.Go Kats!!
