Lady Kats tip off weekend sports action

The Sam Houston State womens basketball team will kick-off a busy weekend for Bearkat athletics when they host Louisiana-Monroe tonight at 7 p.m. in Johnson Coliseum. The Lady Kats are coming off a horrible 88-61 loss to non-conference opponent Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday night, a game which left SHSU head coach Erika Ritter disgusted, mainly due to the fact her team turned the ball over 31 times. We came out flat and unemotional, Ritter said after the game. Were just going through the motions. To be quite honest, it was embarrassing to do that in front of our home crowd. The Demons stand second place in the conference standings at 7-4, one and a half games up on the Bearkats.
