Huntsville will be seeing its newest edition to the entertainment scene in about two weeks. Around April 12 a new pool hall will be opening up at 1421 Sam Houston Ave. near the old Goodyear store and the Gallery. The pool hall is 4,500 square feet and will be furnished with new top-of the-line pool tables, arcade games, concession stand and a dance floor. There will be 10 professional size, play-by-the-hour pool tables. The pool hall will not be serving alcohol and will not permit smoking. They are trying to keep the establishment laid back and family oriented. The pool hall will be hosting pool tournaments and soon after opening they plan begin league play. The pool hall also plans on having live entertainment from local bands. The concession stand will be serving hot dogs, nachos, candy, chips, popcorn and soft drinks. Within a month they plan on serving pizza. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Owens, think this will become a huge success because Huntsville needs a pool hall without the smoky bar atmosphere.
