Shenanigan’s and Confetti’s: Great places to dance

If you’re looking to dance, Shenanigan’s and Confetti’s are the places to be. The two-in-one club stretches 24,000 square feet across 11th Avenue, which provides plenty of dancing room.Shenanigan’s is one of the largest country and western dance halls in East Texas. The dance floor alone is 3,000 square feet Besides dancing, the club offers Vegas style blackjack and craps, 14 pool tables and 11 bar stations fully stocked with beer and liquor. On Thursday nights Shenanigan’s hosts the “Butts and Gutts” contest, and each month a concert is played at the hall. This month, Gene Watson will perform on Oct. 25.Confetti’s offers an alternative and dance music mix for those who do not care for country. It has two raised dance floors and a high tech sound system to get you moving. If you don’t feel like dancing, check out one of five full bars, four pool tables, or the air hockey table that Confetti’s has. On Wednesdays, Confetti’s offers karaoke, and on Thursdays there is a “Hard and Soft Body” contest.Drink specials are offered Wednesday through Saturday at both clubs. Wednesday features $1 You-Call-Its, and Thursdays the clubs have $1.50 well drinks, $1.50 long necks, $3 pitchers, 75 cent kamikazes and killer Kool-aid. On Fridays, from 8-10 p.m., the clubs have $1 longnecks and frozen margaritas. Saturdays are the biggest nights for Shenanigan’s and Confetti’s, and the clubs have drink specials to match. Patrons can get $1 well liquors and longnecks from 8-10 p.m., and $4 pitchers, $1 kamikazes and killer Kool-aid all night. There are also hourly shot specials on Saturdays.Don’t forget, ladies get in free between 8-10 p.m. Thursdays and 8-9 p.m. Fridays.
