I am an extremely opinionated person. Name a topic and I have an opinion. Not only do I have an opinion, but my opinion is right. I will listen to yours as long as you know that if you disagree with me, you are wrong. So, when Tara asked me to write an editorial, I thought this would be easy. I can write about anything I want and tell everyone not only how I feel, but how they should feel as well. Oh yeah, I was really looking forward to this. But, when I sat down at my computer I drew a blank. What, Amee, doesnt have anything to say? This was a first. I thought about continuing the racism discussion. I have lots to say about the ignorance and hatred in this world. Yes, there is racism and, yes, it is a HUGE problem. You are very sheltered and uneducated if you do not agree with me. However, I’m sure you are tired of hearing about it, so Ill just say we need to work on it. I then thought about commenting on the death penalty. This is always a topic up for discussion, especially here in Huntsville. How can people convince themselves that it is okay to kill another person? What gives anyone the right to decide if someone lives or dies? This isnt our decision to make. However, that horse has been beaten to death as well. There is always abortion. Once again, I just do not see how people can justify murder. Make your choice early–safe sex or abstinence is the key. OK, so everyone can get sick of the abortion issue so I kept thinking. I am outraged that Survivor comes on at the same time as Friends. What in the world am I supposed to do? Thankfully, I have a VCR. But what about those who dont? How are they supposed to choose? And yes, I like the new Survivor almost as much as the old one. Who cares if they are too pretty or snobby? They have to do crazy things and eat disgusting crap. Oh yeah, Im flipping during commercials. If that topic doesnt get people riled up, then what will? OK, we were talking about gun control the other day in Spanish. (It was really hard to express my opinion in a foreign language.) Anyway, I thought that would be a good topic. People have to realize that without guns it would be harder to kill someone. There has to be something we can do to keep guns out of the hands of children, criminals and idiots. Hunters do not need an AK-47 (is that a gun?) to kill a deer. But I dont have a solution, so I decided to try something else. How about experiments on animals? Thats something I dont hear much about, but I am all for it! Are you kidding me? They are animals! If experimenting on them will cure AIDS or help my friend who has cancer or will help tell if something is safe for me DO IT! Better them than me. (And yes, I have a dog that I love.) Anyway, I have way too many opinions and way too much to say. I couldn’t decide what to write about, so this is what you get. Agree with me. If everyone in the world would think like I do, then the world would be a better place!
