The Department of Student Activities will be in the mall area today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a float and sundae ice cream party. The event is on behalf of SHSU Homecoming and several activities are planned this week for all students to become a part of.A “Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show” will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Smith-Hutson Building Auditorium. Program Council is sponsoring the event, which features comedians Nikki Carr and Ronnie Long. The comedians have been featured on Def Comedy Jam and Comic View. The Homecoming parade will be Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.Decorated floats from campus organizations will be featured. The parade entries will show SHSU spirit and incorporate the homecoming theme “There’s No Place Like Sam.” The parade will begin on Sam Houston Avenue, travel to 16th Street and then to Avenue H.Program Council will host a “Drive In Movie” at Colony Park on Nov 8. Students are encouraged to bring lawn furniture and blankets. The council will feature a newly released movie and will furnish refreshments.A pre-game party will take place at noon on Nov. 10 at the Bowers Stadium parking lot. Free food and entertainment will be provided and there will be games and prizes.
