Shenanigan’s to host three major Nashville entertainers Saturday

Shenanigans is hosting the “Honky-Tonk Tailgate Party Tour” Saturday, Feb. 10. The tour is the brainstorm of three good friends–Rhett Akins, Jeff Carlson and Daryle Singletary. They are sharing their musical talents as musicians, artists and songwriters with their fans.Akins is a country singer/songwriter who is well engrossed in the country music scene. He was born in Valdosta, Ga. and launched his career in 1995 with the debut album “A Thousand Memories.” Two albums followed shortly including, “Somebody New” and “What Livins All About.” Some of his top singles include “Don’t Get Me Started” and “That Aint My Truck.”Carlson of Gravette, Ark. is a country singer/ songwriter as well. Carlsons hit singles that pushed him to the top of the charts are “Not On Your Love” and “The Car.” Added to the recognition was the fact that “The Car” captured the 1996 Academy of Country Music Award for Video of the Year, and Carlson was in “Country Americas” Top 10 New Artists for 1996. Then in 2000 Carlson received the CCMA Mainstream Artist of the Year. “Billboard Magazine” said, “Carlson turns in an appealing vocal performance that should make programmers take notice.”Singletary is a popular artist who has worked with well-known artists such as Tanya Tucker and Randy Travis. Singletary grew up in Whigham, Ga. and soon moved to Nashville after realizing that a singing career was a promising possibility. There he landed a deal with Giant Records and with the help of producer, Doug Johnson, Singletary produced a hit album, “Now and Again.” The top single that brought him success was “I Knew I Loved You,” originally a hit for Savage Garden. “This show is going to be a great success and we are really excited to host such awesome talent.,” said Jeff Bramdom from Shenanigans.Doors for the show will open at 7 p.m., but the show will not start until 9 p.m. Tickets will cost $15 if purchased in advance and $18 at the door.
