In the final moments of the 2002 season, the Lady Kats were able to enjoy a 72-64 win against Lamar after suffering through a though season of losses.Kelly Brown scored 19 points, Amy Barker added 16, and Alice Johnson scored 11 to lead SHSU to the victory.SHSU hit 48 percent from the field and 78 percent at the free throw line (21 of 27). Lamar committed 26 turnovers, while SHSU had 24 miscues.The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Lady Kats and ended the season for both squads.The team finished the season in last place in the Southland Conference with a 3-17 record. The Lady Kats were 3-24 overall.Brown was an honorable mention to the SLC all conference team.
