The Huntsville Chamber of Commerce will be busy at the end of this month as they sponsor three Huntsville area activities.The Chamber’s Small Business Breakfast will be held at Golden Corral on Sept. 12. The breakfast is an opportunity for business owners to advertise to their peers.Walker County Hardware will host the Chamber’s Business After Hours meeting on Sept. 26. Business After Hours allows members of the Chamber of Commerce to become acquainted on a social level. The New Waverly Public Library is hosting their 6th annual Cook-Off on Sept. 27 and 28. Awards will be given for the best barbecue beef, fajita meat and chili.Proceeds from the cook-off will benefit the New Waverly Public Library, which has begun construction on its new buildingSeveral activities are also scheduled. On Friday, there will be dancing and live music, followed by “Cow Patty Bingo,” “Cash Pot” drawings, an auction and horseshoes on Saturday. The races will be at Huntsville State Park. The bike trails at the park are rated one to two on a national scale, signifying beginner and intermediate trails. Alley, from Alleyton, Texas, made a significant contribution to Texas music with her songs.
