Millennium M.O.D.E.L.S.

Three years ago, three students at Sam Houston State were busy selling Mary Kay Cosmetics and giving makeovers to students when the brilliant idea of Millennium M.O.D.E.L.S. came about. Katrina Kiselinchev, Janelle McCalla and Angela Reese started the Millennium M.O.D.E.L.S. organization that stands for Making Optimum Differences in Everyone’s Lives at Sam in November 2000. The organization is open to anyone and tries to incorporate making a difference and impact in people’s lives. The organization also tries to enhance the inner beauty, as well as the outer beauty, of every member. Besides winning a Sammy Award in 2001 for Outstanding Special Interest Organization, the 50-member organization is known for many other things.Millennium M.O.D.E.L.S. is a community service based organization and volunteers its time working with Huntsville Elementary School in a reading/mentor program, along with working with the SAAFE House.April is a very big month for the M.O.D.E.L.S. On April 15, at 2 p.m. the M.O.D.E.L.S. will present “Return of the Thong Part II,” a car wash to help fundraise money for the organization. On April 22 at 6 p.m. in the Smith Hudson Building, Millennium M.O.D.E.L.S. will present, “Sex from all different types of positions.” The event will include six speakers who will present their professional and personal views on sex and the impact it has on college life. On April 23, the organization will be offering a sweet treat to students by serving Moo-lennium Crunch Ice Cream from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the AB1 mall area.On April 29, M.O.D.E.L.S. will hold its Fashion, Talent and Date Auction fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall. Ticket prices are $2 presale and $3 at the door.
