To participate in this year’s Homecoming parade registration forms must be returned to the Office of Student Activities in the Lowman Student Center suite 328, by no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Jason Gomez, program coordinator for the Office of Student Activities, said, “People should participate in the Homecoming parade because it shows school and camaraderie among students, faculty and staff as well as the Huntsville community. The community is behind everything that we do at SHSU and we would like them to join us in showing their Bearkat pride.’
The Homecoming Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. The parade line-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Commuter Parking Lot across from the Estill Building and AB3. Participants are asked to enter the lot from the 20th Street side entrance in order to receive their official parade order number. Remember that all entries must be decorated and in place by 9:30 a.m.
Tiffany Flenoy, president of Program Council, encourages students and organizations to participate in the parade to have a chance to earn spirit points and a chance to win $1,200.
All parade entries will be judged on creativity, appearance and use of the theme, “Paint the Town Orange.” The winners of the parade will be announced during the Homecoming pre-game party held in the Bowers Stadium Parking Lot from noon to 2 p.m.
