University Police Reports

September 10, 2003

While conducting a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Avenue J, officer determined that the male driver, an 18-year-old university student, was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently cited for the offense of “Driving Under the Influence/Alcohol-Minor” and he was released to a sober individual.

September 9, 2003

A resident of Creager House reported that $25.00 in cash was stolen from her room.

September 8, 2003

A sub-contractor at the parking garage reported that a pressure washer was stolen from the complex.

September 7, 2003

A resident of the Alpha Delta Pi House reported that a money order was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the North Sorority Hill Lot.

A university student reported that his backpack containing several textbooks was stolen from the Newton Gresham Library while he was utilizing the facility.

A resident of White Hall reported that his vehicle was burglarized while it was parked in White Hall Lot #2. A stereo system was removed from the vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to White Hall in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers attempted to detain two individuals; however, the individuals fled from the scene. Officers were able to apprehend the individuals and they were identified as an 18-year-old Stephen F. Austin student, and an 18-year-old San Jacinto College student. Both individuals were determined to be intoxicated; therefore, they were taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and were booked for the offenses of “Public Intoxication” and “Evading Arrest/Detention”.

While conducting a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Sam Houston Avenue, officer determined that the male driver, a 31-year-old Huntsville resident, was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and was booked for the offense of “Driving While Intoxicated”.
