The grave of Tripod, a mascot of SHSU, has recently suffered property vandalism. On Monday, Oct. 17, a student found the headstone on Tripod’s grave knocked off its base and lying on the ground.
“It’s inconcievable that someone would do something so heinous,” junior animal science major Michael Thomas said. “This would be comparable to someone defacing Austin Hall. It’s a slap in the face to students and alumni alike.”
UPD and the president’s office were contacted for comment, but neither had heard any reports of the vandalism.
