AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – A new judge for Rep. Tom DeLay’s criminal trial could be named by Friday, replacing a jurist who was removed from the case at DeLay’s urging, an administrative judge said Wednesday.
State District Judge Bob Perkins was removed from the case Tuesday after DeLay’s attorneys argued that Perkins’ more than $5,000 in contributions to Democratic candidates.
