DuBois (Patricia Arquette), a strong-willed young mother of three, devoted wife and law student, begins to suspect that she can talk to dead people, see the future in her dreams and read peoples’ thoughts.

When Allison encountered the work of a popular artist, disturbing 3-D images emerged, and she uncovered the man’s most deadly secret.
Arquette turns to her husband, an aerospace engineer, for support in several episodes. Joe (Jake Weber) tries to help Arquette convince the doubters in the criminal justice system that her psychic abilities can give them the upper hand in solving some of the most violent mysteries from behind the grave. Her dreams often give her clues to the whereabouts of missing people and by touching someone, she often gets to see beneath the facade into the person’s soul.
