In another rain filled weekend, Sam Houston State University welcomed Texas- Pan American to Huntsville for a three-game tournament in which the Bearkats won the first game before losing the final two to the hot bats of the Broncs.
In game one of the series, junior Timothy Gray proved how good SHSU pitching has become by throwing seven outstanding innings, allowing just two hits and three runs to earn the 5-3 win.
Game Two of the tournament was supposed to be held Saturday but was postponed until Sunday due to heavy rainfall.
The Bearkats lost the final two games 5-2, as the Broncs improved their record to 6-8.
The Bearkats are now 5-5 and will play their next game tonight at 7 p.m. against the Centenary Gents from Shreveport, Louisiana.
