National Broadcasting Society to host conference on broadcasting field

The National Broadcasting Society is holding its 26th annual Leadership Conference this Thursday, March 2, in the LSC. The conference features guest speakers from all facets of broadcasting and related fields — TV news, radio news, creative video and film production, sports broadcasting, media sales, promotions, corporate video and more. Several SHSU Alumni serve as speakers, including alumnus Kenny Sargent, President and CEO of Speed Freaks TV.

NBS President Holly Hawkins said “the conference is geared towards students majoring in mass communications but all students are welcome to attend.” Sessions will be held on the third floor of the Lowman Student Center and admission is free. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with sessions at 8:00, 9:30, 11:00, 12:30 and 2:00. High school students interested in media careers from around Southeast Texas are also invited to the conference.
