The Southland Conference’s automatic berth in the field of 65 for the 2006 NCAA men’s basketball tournament is at stake when the SLC Post-Season Classic, sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts, begins Tuesday, March 7.
Sam Houston State University has already clinched a first round home game. The contest will begin at 7 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum on March 7. Tickets are $10 for reserved seats and $7 for upper level general admission tickets.
Sam Houston State students will be admitted free on presentation of their SHSU ID at the gate.

The top eight teams in the final regular season standings qualify for the tournament. The tournament finals will be held Sunday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seed. The finals will be televised live nationally on ESPN2.
