SHSU tennis squad beat Lamar, 4-3

HUNTSVILLE — Brooke Mills defeated Tanya Roberts in three sets at number three singles for the decisive victory as Sam Houston State University defeated Lamar 4-3 in a Southland Conference tennis match Saturday at the McAdams Tennis Courts.

Lata Assudani and Cristina Flores won at number two and six singles and the Bearkats took the doubles for their other three points.

With the victory, Sam Houston State completed Southland Conference action with a 6-4 dual match record, the best league mark in 19 years in the Southland Conference for women’s tennis. Last year’s squad was 5-5.
