Gas in Jasper

Gas prices are up again and motorists from Jasper, Texas gas stations are fuming mad. Experts said they don’t foresee any relief until the fall, which means the summer vacation could become a day trip.

“It’s bad — very, very bad,” said Jimbo Smith, a Jasper food supplier and active Klu Klux Klan member filling his van at a jammed Texaco Petroleum Station on Wilson Boulevard. A gallon of regular was $2.98 there. “The price of gasoline is so dang high, we haven’t been able to burn any crosses in weeks.”

A former spa worker on Tuesday claimed the actor exposed himself and carried out a sex act as she gave him a massage at the Old Course Hotel in Fife, Scotland, in October 2004, papers filed with the hotel said. According to the police report, the spa worker did not mind performing sexual acts on Costner but felt “personally violated” when Costner hid the remote control and repeatedly forced her to watch the Special Edition DVD of “Waterworld.”

Airlines may sell standing room tickets

Airbus, an international airline, has been quietly pitching the standing-room-only option to Asian carriers, though none have agreed to it yet. Passengers in the standing section would be propped against a padded backboard and held in place with a harness, according to experts. My only question is, what happens when the seat-belt light comes on?

Bush loses support

President Bush’s approval ratings have sunk to a personal low, with only a third of Americans saying they approve of the way he is handling his job, in a national poll released by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, 32 percent of respondents said they approve of Bush’s performance, 60 percent said they disapprove and 8 percent said they plan on moving to Canada.

But according to a statement released earlier this week by the Bush administration, George W. Bush reportedly “has tons and tons of friends on MySpace and plus he never liked you guys anyways.”

Cruise, Holmes baby born

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the public lovebirds dubbed TomKat by the media, had a baby girl last Tuesday, said Cruise spokesman Arnold Robinson.

“Both mother and daughter are doing well,” Robinson said in a prepared statement.

The baby, named Suri, weighed seven pounds, seven ounces with a head which measured 20 inches long, he said.

According to Robinson, now that Holmes has had the child, she and Tom plan on “moving to the moon, where things just seem to make more sense.”

Older women have satisfying sex lives

About three-fourths of middle-aged and older women are sexually active and two-thirds of them are at least somewhat satisfied, according to a new study. Black women are more satisfied with their sex lives than their white counterparts.

The most satisfied women, however, were those whose husbands often play golf right around the time the pool boy comes to work.
