No injuries in Humphrey’s crash

A car ran into the front patio of the popular bar and restaurant, Humphrey’s, yesterday evening after a Ford Contour collided with a Nissan Maxima on Sam Houston Ave.

No one in the vehicles was injured but EMS responded to the scene due to the presence of juveniles in the Ford Contour. According to witnesses, the patio was almost completely empty when the collision occurred.

The accident occurred at 6:15 p.m. when the silver Nissan Maxima attempted a left turn into the Humphrey’s parking lot across two lanes of traffic and was allegedly hit by the maroon Ford Contour. The Contour careened into the front patio of the restaurant, scrapping the side of patio railing and stopping on the grassy area in front of the patio.

Senior Patrol Officer for HPD, Wade Roberts, said that the southbound left lane on Sam Houston Ave. was probably stopped to allow the Maxima to turn, but the right lane was still moving when the Contour collided with the Maxima.
