Halloween head start

It’s never too early to get a start on Halloween costume shopping. It takes time and careful planning to find the perfect costume and with plenty of resources in Huntsville and in the Houston area, students will have no problems finding “the one.”

Students have to look no farther than 11th street for access to quality costumes. Card and Party Factory, located next to Shenanigans, offers child and adult costumes, Halloween-themed party supplies and a variety of Halloween decorations. Prices for the adult costumes vary in the $20 range. Wal-mart and Hastings also offer Halloween costumes and decorations in the Huntsville area.

The Spring and Houston area serves host to a number of additional Halloween specialty stores. Danny’s Trix and Kix is a “Halloween Superstore” located at 3400 FM 2920 in Spring. It has a large assortment of costumes in the $30 to $60 range. It also features pet costumes, theatrical make-up, props/special effects and accessories for various prices. Party Boy is located at 1515 Studemont St. in Houston and offers more than 1,000 different costumes for sale and over 30,000 costumes for rent.

Traditionally a party store, it also offers seasonal products such as Halloween-themed decorations.

Costume World, a vast online costume service, has a “huge selection of Retail Costumes” available for personal or theatrical use. Located online at http://costumeworld.com, Costume World offers adult and child costumes in the $20 to $50 range. It also has masks, make-up, wigs and other costume-related accessories that can be purchased online.

With so many stores in the Huntsville and Houston area, students should have no problem finding a costume in time for Halloween this year. Only 25 days left!
