Congressman Kevin Brady will speak in the LSC Theater tomorrow from 2-3 p.m. He will have a question and answer session about various legislation issues. Examples include issues affecting education and the economy, including costs of higher education and reductions in state funding for financial aid.
Brady is serving his fifth term in Congress and represents the counties of Walker, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Tyler, Polk, Hardin, Newton, Jasper, Orange and parts of Liberty and Trinity. He also holds the leadership post of Deputy Whip and serves on the Ways and Means Committee, which is often considered to be the most powerful committee in Congress.
In Congress Brady has been named Hero-of-the-Taxpayers and Small Business Champion. He has received the Golden Bulldog Award by Watchdogs of the Treasury, special recognition by Citizens Against Government Waste, and is a recurrent winner of the Guardian of Small Business and Spirit of Enterprise awards.
