Every year millions of people sit in the comfort of their homes to tune in for quality television.
There are some shows that make you laugh and others really get you thinking about world issues, but once in a while viewers are in need of a program that dabbles in the glorification of human achievement.
The 49th Annual Grammy Awards is certain to be just that type of entertainment.
This years Grammy Awards is certain to bring to fans not only sterling performances from some of the most popular acts in music but presentations of accolades to the best acts in the biz.
The performers include A-List artists like Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, The Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Blige in addition to performing leads with the most nominations having a total of eight and is already a three time winner.
Timberlake and rapper Ludacris follow Blige with four nods each. Both artists have previously received awards in the past.
The list of presenters is just as impressive as the performers in terms of star power.
The presenters are not limited to just music acts and includes some of Hollywood’s most popular actors.
Some of the celebrities on the list of presenters includes The Black Eyed Peas, Ciara, Nelly Furtado, Terrance Howard, Samuel L Jackson, Pink and Rihanna.
This year the Grammy’s will feature a “My Grammy’s Moment” segment in which a unsigned artist will get the chance to perform with Timberlake.
The field has been narrowed down to nine contestants that will be narrowed down to three on Super Bowl weekend.
The decision for who will perform is being made by fans whom vote for the contestants.
“We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response we have received for our ‘My GRAMMY Moment’ opportunity, and the Top 5 finalists reflect a diverse group of extremely talented singers,” said Recording Academy President Neil Portnow.
With the carpet ready, guest list made, and votes in this years Grammy’s look to be a memorable one. The program will air on Feb. 11.
