Like the last three editions of the show, the new season of “America’s Top Model 8” will feature 13 girls and a judging panel comprised of Tyra, supermodel Twiggy, photographer Nigel Barker and runway expert J. Alexander. As in previous seasons, Top Model 8 will also feature additional special guest judges. As the show has done since Top Model 4, Top Model 8’s girls lived in a posh Los Angeles mansion during the already-filmed show’s production.
The eighth edition’s winner will receive the same prize package that was introduced in this fall’s Top Model 7 — a management deal with Elite Model Management, a $100,000 contract with cosmetics company Cover Girl and a cover story appearance in an issue of “Seventeen Magazine.”
Top Model 8’s cast ranges in ages between 19 and 24 and includes five college students. However, none of the finalists are from California — a noteworthy fact given more than half of last season’s Top Model cast had called
The Golden State their home. Following its special two-hour premiere, Top Model 8 will air regularly on ednesday at 8 p.m.
