A new beginning

Junior Rhett Bomar, a highly publicized transfer quarterback from the University of Oklahoma, began spring workouts for the first time at Bowers Stadium last Thursday under the watchful eye of head coach Todd Whitten. The university has found much success with a string of previous big-name transfers, such as Dustin Long, who transferred to SHSU from Texas A&M to lead the Bearkats to the 2004 Southland Conference Championship. This season, Sam Houston fans hope to find a continuum of that trend when Bomar chucks the crimson and scream in favor of the orange and white in the Bearkats’ 2007 season kickoff on August 30.
