Sam Houston baseball sweeps UTA, improve to 7-2 in conference play

(SID) – Clint Mann and Keith Stein each went 3-for-5 to lead Sam Houston State to a 10-3 victory over Texas-Arlington for a Southland Conference series sweep of the Mavericks Sunday at Don Sanders Stadium.

Sam Houston State (21-10, SLC 7-2) totaled 15 hits as Bobby Verbick hit two doubles and Karl Krailo added another. Tim Gray (3-2) was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits in six innings while walking one and striking out four. Adam Albright and Casey Springer pitched in relief.

Leo Radkowski led the Mavericks with a 2-for-4 day at the plate. Chris Taylor (2-2) was the loser for Texas-Arlington (9-22, SLC 0-9)
