SHSU students will get the opportunity to start their summer fun early this Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m., when the Brook Place Apartment complex will host ‘Life’s a Beach’ pool party, with special guest Syrus and Danny from MTV’s “The Real World.”
This is the last stop of their tour in which they are traveling to promote Breast Cancer Awareness across the country. For the past few weeks, cans have been placed at different businesses throughout Huntsville collecting donations for the cause. Both Danny and Syrus will make their donations Saturday at the pool party.
There will be free BBQ and pizza and plenty of giveaways. Prizes consist of coupons to local businesses, leasing specials and there will even be a drawing for a Nintendo Wii.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun and everyone is welcome,” Brook Place Manager Diendra Cox said, who is also a fellow student here at Sam Houston.
A swim suit contest will take place with Danny and Syrus as judges for the girls bikini contest. There will also be a guy’s swimsuit contest where Danny and Syrus pick two girls to be the guest judges for them. The winners can win up to $200.
The pool party will last until 5 p.m. at Brook Place and then the after party, hosted by Aberdeen Place Apartments, will move to the Jolly Fox.
There will be a number of giveaways at the after party, along with a money machine and a best dressed contest, where the winner will receive $200.
The theme of the night is Gilligan’s Island.
