(SID) – Sam Houston State and XOS Network have agreed to a partnership which will create a new comprehensive website and total ticketing system for the Bearkat athletic department.
The interactive website will include a broadband video channel to show highlights of games, coach’s shows, news conferences and, eventually, live video streaming of athletic events.
Other website features eventually will include an online store, online auctions, a mobile store as well as other features that will enhance the site for fans visiting the webpage.
“This is an exciting opportunity for us to partner with XOS for our new interactive athletic website and total ticketing system,” Director of Athletics Bobby Williams said. “We look forward to creating a more fan friendly website that will allow our fans more comprehensive coverage of Bearkat athletics “.
The new total ticketing system will make purchasing tickets to athletic events easier. Fans will be able to purchase tickets online for all events, share tickets with other fans, make donations, and even make seat requests online. The new ticketing system will include interactive features that give each user an easy-to-use feel when searching for tickets.
“We are extremely excited about the ticketing system as we believe this will help us increase interaction with our fans and also an easy to use system that will make purchasing tickets to our events easier and more efficient,” Williams said.
A launch date for the new http://www.gobearkats.com complete with both the website and total ticketing system has not been set, but it is expected to take approximately 8 weeks.
“By joining the XOS Network, Sam Houston State has become our first 360-network partner in the Southland Conference,” said Harry Stiff, XOS vice president of consumer marketing. “SHSU understands that advanced interactivity is vital for loyal fan satisfaction. By implementing XOS Total Ticketing along with a new multiplatform broadband environment, SHSU fans can leverage a central online hub to find exclusive and high-affinity content. And as the XOS Network transitions to become part of JumpTV – the world’s leading Internet broadcaster – SHSU can take advantage of additional resources on a global scale.”
