On Wednesday, August 29, the Program Council will host the Casino Royale themed Casino Night. The long-standing tradition will be from 6 to 10 pm, hosted in the LSC Ballroom.
One of the most popular events of Welcome Week, Casino Night is a night of gambling and prizes. Casino Night is free and open to all Sam Houston students.
In addition to the usual slot machines, there will be Blackjack tables, Roulette, Craps, Texas Hold-Em and Three Card Poker. There are also plenty of opportunities to win cool prizes through giveaways and raffles.
Every hour on the hour, movie and school supply packs will be given away. There will also be Welcome Week giveaways along with free event t-shirts and cups.
At the end of the night, the Program Council is hosting a large prize raffle. Participants can win a flat screen TV, an iPod, a mini-fridge, a portable DVD player and various gift certificates. Students must be able to provide their SamID to receive their raffle prizes.
Casino Night is run by ten board members and a staff of over 100 volunteers from student organizations on campus. Every participating organization sponsors a table and provides its own dealers.
