The Public Relations Student Society of America will be giving away free ice cream on Wednesday in the mall area from noon until supplies last.
The event is called “I Read for Ice Cream,” and to receive ice cream, students will need to bring a hard copy of any article from the day’s USA Today newspaper to the PRSSA table.
“Dr. Reyes Campaign and Promotion Class had to do a campaign for USA Today in the fall,” said PRSSA Co-President Stefanie Taylor. “Our goal obviously is to get more people to read USA Today.”
Taylor said USA Today asked PRSSA to execute a campaign and gave them money to do it.
The Sam Houston State Chapter of PRSSA is a growing pre-professional organization of students who strive for excellence in leadership and professional preparation.
Chapter members are serious about gaining practical experience and enhancing their understanding of public relations, marketing, advertising and communications.
PRSSA welcomes all journalism, public relations, business, marketing, communications and all other majors who are interested in the field of public relations.
As a pre-professional society, PRSSA at SHSU tries to meet, interact and network with professionals in the field.
