Not your average sports bar…

The owners of Tops & Bottoms Sports Bar & Grille wanted to create a unique experience for the sports or food enthusiast. This new bar, which opened on Dec. 21, offers more than just sports. The co-owners of Tops & Bottoms, Tarek Maalouf and David Fonseca, have thought about every possible aspect of the service they wanted to provide to their customers. “We hope we provide a fun, safe place for our customers to watch Pay-Per-View sports and events,” Maalouf said. Tops & Bottoms has nearly 38 flat-screen televisions surrounding the establishment with each measuring no smaller than 32″. There are even TVs in the middle of the bar to ensure that no customer has to turn around to view any sporting event being shown. Tops & Bottoms offers local, nationwide and worldwide sports. The major sporting events that will be shown at the bar will include UCF, WWF and Pro-Boxing. In addition to the convenience of watching multiple sporting events, customers can choose from a variety of affordable meals offered on their menu. From their Fish & Chip Basket to their Bearkats Hog Wings, Tops & Bottoms has thought of every dish that could please their customer’s taste buds. The bar will have a grand opening and welcome back students by hosting a ‘Student Bash’ on Thursday, Jan. 17. The event will last all day and students are encouraged to check out the new business and all they have to offer. Although many students were surprised to see the new business, many have settled in to the new establishment. “Everybody has been great,” Maalouf said. “It has been better than we expected.” The sports bar participates in iDrive, a program dedicated to keep students safe through designated drivers. If customers are suspected to be too intoxicated to drive home, Tops & Bottoms has a staff of security which will seize the customer’s keys and then call a cab. This will provide safety to all the customers visiting the establishment. The sports bar will feature premiere games and sports events including Pay-Per-View specials. As a testament to this promise, Tops & Bottoms has planned to bring its customers two events which will be sure to please all sports fans. They will host the UFC 80 Nemesis Fight and the Felix Trinidad vs. Roy Jones Jr. Fight on Saturday, Jan. 19. Both of these events will be free of charge to all customers with no cover required. Tops & Bottoms is undoubtedly unique in what it offers to their customers. From their wide array of food to their extended security measures, this bar ensures that its customers will be satisfied. “The students and residents deserve to have a good sports bar. They’re my inspiration,” Maalouf said. For more information on Tops & Bottoms or future events, visit their website at http://topsandbottomsbar.com/index.html or call (936) 293-8565.
