Seniors on the road to success

Upcoming Sam Houston State University graduates were able to have their graduation questions answered at “Destination Graduation” yesterday in the LSC ballroom.

The event, sponsored by the Registrar’s office, was for all students who have applied for May graduation, whether they are receiving their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. The event included giveaways and free food.

“The event was held to provide students a place to gather any last-minute details regarding graduation,” said Zach Valdes, publications coordinator for the Registrar’s Office.

Students were also given the opportunity to order their cap and gowns. Information was available for graduate programs that are offered at SHSU.

The event was also a convenient place for students make sure they were cleared by the university to graduate. Students were able to find out if they had any outstanding fees, such as library or parking fines, that would keep them from receiving their diplomas upon graduation.

“Students were able to take care of any issues affiliated with account information, graduation status information or GRE (Graduate Record Exam) questions,” Valdes said.

Those who were not able to attend “Destination Graduation” and have applied for May graduation will receive a packet will in the mail containing information that was available at the event.
