A fusion of styles and personalities will be presented in the form of a dance concert produced and choreographed by graduate students in the dance department.
The concert will be held on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m. in the SHSU Dance Theater in room 101. Although the admission is free, there are limited seats
and anyone interested should arrive at 7:30 p.m.
The graduate dance concert, entitled ‘FUSED,’ exclusively produced by the graduate students and about 50 performers are from within the dance department.
“We enjoy being able to present our choreography to the faculty and students of Sam Houston State, and to the Huntsville community,” Jennifer Hart, co-director and choreographer of FUSED said. “Not only is it fun and exciting for us to be able to present our work, but also a great learning experience.”
The styles presented in the dance concert range from modern and jazz to hip-hop and will also include a video dance piece by Samantha Angus.
“This is a very eclectic performance that showcases all the grad students’ choreographic styles,” Megan Lasher, co-director of FUSED said. “Hopefully people will enjoy the differences between dances both in style and content.”
The graduate students involved in the choreography and production of FUSED include Maggie Lasher, Jennifer Hart, Christine Bowden, Sam Angus, Kyla Olsen, Olney Edmonson, Heather Samuelson, and Cheryl Callon.
