As part of its ongoing fundraising venture, the Sam Houston Spirit Programs department is holding its annual Poster Sale from Sept. 8-12.
The sale, which is being held in the mall area outside the Lowman Student Center, is designed to provide students with the opportunity to add a little excitement to their apartment, dorm room or home, while also raising money for the University Spirit Program.
Though the posters are produced by an outside company, 15 percent of the profits come directly back to the university, according to Brian McCoplin, spirit programs coordinator. The posters will vary in price but are designed to be very affordable for students. In previous years, poster designs have included reproductions of well known works of art, movie posters and still-life photography.
The Spirit Program facilitates such organizations as Sam Houston Cheerleading and Dance squads and is also in charge of Sammy the Bearkat, SHSU’s beloved mascot.
