Members of the SHSU Program Council handed out free Halloween-themed cookies and drinks yesterday as part of Program Council’s “Grab & Go” series. The event was held in the LSC mall area and was designed to both promote Program Council and to lighten the mood on campus.
The event was part of an ongoing series of “Grab & Go’s” hosted throughout the semester by Program Council. At each event, Program Council hands out a giveaway item along with literature about upcoming events on campus, according to Multi-Cultural co-chair Monae Yancey.
“It’s just a fun thing that we do,” she said.
Though the event was Halloween-themed, other versions of the “Grab & Go” feature various themes. Some hand out food and drinks, others fun promotional items. The giveaways are usually held about twice a month, Yancey said.
Program Council is a student-run organization under the office of Student Activities. They hold multiple events throughout the year designed to broaden the college experience for the entire student body.
