Black History Month Jeopardy will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the LSC Ballroom at 7 p.m.
SHSU Program Council and game provider TJohnE have cooperated to host the event. It is designed to allow everybody to feel like they can celebrate Black History Month Program Council Executive Director Donielle Miller said.
The prize for top black trivia knowledge is $200 in cash. Contestants will be selected by an electronic audience poll consisting of a series of black history trivia. Every audience member will receive an electronic buzzer at the beginning of the event, and the four audience members who have answered correctly will be selected. Selected contestants will go on stage to compete in a trivia game concerning not only black history, but black pop culture as well.
Two projection screens will display questions and answers during the event, and TJohnE will be the event announcer.
In Spring 2008 approximately 150 students attended the event. The 2009 event encourages students of all ethnic backgrounds to join in the fun and have a chance at walking away with $200 in your pocket.
