Enviromentally friendly students branched out into four different groups to plant trees around campus, following a presentation at 6 p.m. in the LSC yesterday for Sam Goes Green.
Courtney Hill, Student Activities Education Chair, gave a presentation over how to become environmentally safe in your daily life.
College life can be a bit hectic and some students are on a budget. Courtney emphasized that little things go a long way, and gave tips on simple, inexpensive things that can be done to help the environment.
After the presentation the students were broken up into four groups. Each group was giving a tree to plant on a designated area on campus.
This will be the first of many tree planting plans for Sam Houston State University.
After the presentation and tree planting, the students were given a go green kit. This kit included a canvas tote bag, eco friendly trash bags, light bulbs, tissue paper, and notebook.
