61-year-old Philippe Jernnard of La Rochelle, France, was taken into custody Wednesday after talking his way into the cockpit of a US Airways flight preparing to take off at Philadelphia International Airport, according to CBS News.
The Incident occurred around 6:30 pm. When questioned by flight crew Jernnard identified himself as a 747 pilot for Air France. He became argumentative when asked for proper credentials, which led to him being removed from the plane and detained.
It was later determined that Jernnard’s crew member identification card was counterfeit. Jernnard is being charged with criminal trespass, tampering with records, impersonating a person privately employed, and presenting false identification to law enforcement.
Jernnard is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
Thankfully he wasn’t able to take over the plane, which may have been his motive.
