John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, takes action to end gun violence

Yoko Ono Lennon revealed how passionate she is about gun control when she tweeted a picture of her deceased husband John Lennon’s bloody glasses on Wednesday along with statistics on gun violence. It would have been their 44th wedding anniversary, according to Jennifer Preston writing for thelede.blog.nytimes.com.

Lennon was wearing the glasses when he was gunned down outside his Manhattan apartment building on Dec 8, 1980, by Mark David Chapman.

Lennon, singer and song writer, rose to worldwide fame as a founding member of the Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music.

The image really is an attention grabber and tugs at the heart. A legend in his own right, Lennon died young to gun violence.
