The police office calls it an anomaly. It is certainly miraculous that 8.3 million people have managed to co-exist in 468 square miles without anyone deciding to kill anyone else. in a desert of depressing events, this is a glimmering oasis of good news. Lets hope that New Yorkers can keep their murderous insects in check a little longer to achieve a fortnight of peace.
