Sweating in Style

Some might say the only way you can look good at the gym is if you wear make-up…wrong. There are many different ways to look good at the gym no matter what gender you are. First rule of thumb, you always have to smell good! So PLEASE, do us all a favor and wear deodorant. When girls break a sweat, it’s like we just stepped out of a sauna. But don’t worry! I am here to help.

Athletic clothing has become more stylish in the last couple of years which also means they are becoming more expensive. All of the designer brands are going to be a little bit more pricy, but you don’t have to pay the name brand prices to be stylish. Stores such as Marshall’s, TJ Max and Ross offer many designer brands at a fraction of the cost. Also, super stores such as Walmart and Target have started carrying their own brand of clothing that looks just as good as name brands.

Personally, when I’m ready to break a sweat, I like to wear running shorts, or as some call them Nike shorts, with an athletic tank top because when you begin to perspire it isn’t as visible through your clothing. Other stylish clothing to wear are long or quarter length running pants/leggings with a tank or a dry fit shirt. Dry fit clothing is the best for working out because it absorbs the sweat so you don’t look like you just got out of the shower.

I know it doesn’t seem like it, but athletic headbands are very stylish when it comes to working out, especially the thick ones! They come in a variety of different colors and patterns and it’s a great accessory to brighten up your attire and complete your gym look.

I can’t forget to mention the shoes. Shoes are always an important staple of any style of wardrobe. Nike shoes are the most popular shoes for working out, but there are many other brands that will do the trick. I don’t know what it is, but running shoes are becoming the new style. I would drive yourself to the Nike outlet and get yourself some shoes for an excellent price. They are like the athletic headbands; they really make an outfit.

Now, this next item might draw some questionable faces but sports bras are a piece of clothing that can “change everything!”

When you wear a tank top you obviously need to wear a sports bra, but now they are making sports bras in different styles and colors and when you wear a matching one or a patterned one it draws the eye and makes people wonder “where’d you get that look?”

Now for the gentlemen, it’s usually the traditional long basketball shorts with the tanks that are cut off on the sides or just a dry fit t-shirt. I personally like when I see a guy color coordinating. For example, black shorts with an orange dry fit shirt and black or white shoes. When you match it draws attention and is attractive and stylish.

So now when you go to the gym you will be styling even though you are sweating! It also just makes you feel good when you look good and it might give you an incentive to work harder! I mean who wouldn’t want to look like a fitness model when they hit the gym? Now, go out there and sweat in style!
