First Saturday Arts Market

Description: A monthly outdoor market that features original local artist, live bands, and fun in the Heights.

iFest Live 2016

Description: An international festival from Fort Ben ISD. This event will have food, performances, art, and much more. They will have booths from different countries and entertainment from local artist.

Sam Houston Memorial Museum

Description: Stay near campus and check out the Sam Houston Memorial Museum

Description: Opening game of the season, the Bearkats men’s basketball team will be against LeTourneau in the newly renovated Johnson Colisuem.

Explore The Heights

Description Go into downtown Houston and explore one of the hidden gems<The Heights. Go over to Manready Mercantile and see some hand-crafted clothes, bags, and all sorts of leather goods and explore all the crazy shops right next door.

Veteran’s Lament

Description:  Phi Alpha Theta, SHSU’s history honor society, will honor all veterans with a complimentary breakfast and program. There will be a keynote address from associate professor of history Jeremiah Dancy.

Piano Studio Recital

Description: A recital will be given by piano students of music professor Josu de Solaun.

Description: If you are a chocolate fan then you need to go check out the Chocolate Bar in Rice Village. The Chocolate Bar has every assortment of chocolate imaginable as well as ice cream, cakes, chocolate covered Twinkies and everything else imaginable. (Also a great date spot)

Description: Open house event for anyone interest in the nursing program.

Description: Tap into your hipster side and go cheap out the River Oaks Theatre. They specialize in indie films and lesser known films that the larger chain theaters don’t show.
