Who’s that Kat?… It’s Steve Sparks!

This week’s ‘Who’s that Kat?’ for Oct. 25, 2017 is Sam Houston State alumni Steve Sparks.

Sparks graduated from SHSU in 1989 and made his MLB debut for the Milwaukee Brewers April 28, 1995.  He would spend nine years a major league pitcher with the Brewers, Angels, Tigers, Athletics, Diamondbacks. He is known as one of the few knuckleball pitchers through MLB history.   Since the end of his MLB career in 2004, Sparks has remained around the game of baseball.  He now works as the Houston Astros radio color analyst during games.

Sparks will be inducted into the SHSU lettermen’s Hall of Honor Nov. 3, 2017.

Make sure to tune in to an upcoming episode of the Southland Station podcast where Steve Sparks will join the hosts for an exclusive conversation!
