Lee Drain was a SHSU alumnus who also served on the board of regents for an extended period of time. He was given the distinguished alumni award and also served in the air force after attaining his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. Because of his numerous contributions to the university and the state, he was dedicated the Lee Drain building.
