The Kat Klub will kick off a series of poker tournaments that will continue throughout the semester.
There are four free tournaments available: Texas Hold ’em, 9-Ball, 8-ball and dominoes.
Tournament participants play for a chance to win prizes and a chance to compete in the final tournament at the end of the semester. The winner of the tournament will receive a set of Sam Houston State University poker chips.
Tournament organizer Zachary Madeley explained the semester-long tournament and how the ranking of the players work.
“Winners have their points tallied up, and we do a final table at the end of the semester with the players with the highest number of points depending usually on wins/chip counts,” Madeley said.
Any student is welcome to the tournament and can compete every Wednesday in the Kat Klub located in the Lowman Student Center.
No limit Texas Hold ‘em is the first tournament, beginning tonight at 5 p.m.
For more details and to register for any of the tournaments visit the Kat Klub before the tournament begins.
