As the coronavirus pandemic continues throughout Texas with over 20,000 cases, numerous cities have established testing facilities for citizens. As of April 24, the COVID-19 Situational Awareness Update for Walker County reported having 157 total positive cases.
Huntsville has had various pop-up testing locations throughout the month of April.
The next Mobile Test Collection is planned for Monday at Walker County Fairgrounds, according to Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis. The testing will happen on April 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
People with a fever above 100.4 degrees, respiratory symptoms and who have had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 should get tested, especially those with other health issues or those age 60 or older.
Tests will be conducted by appointment only. Citizens can register for Monday’s testing by either visiting this link or calling 512-883-2400.
