The city of Huntsville has launched its Shop Small campaign that ran from November 12th until December 1st. This campaign was created in order to encourage the city to support small businesses and restaurants.
Local boutiques, hair salons, and shops took advantage of this opportunity by spreading the word about the campaign, hoping to gain extra support during this event. This is Huntsville’s third year participating in the campaign. This lasted for over two weeks, giving the people of Huntsville plenty of time to “shop small.”
This campaign is a partnership with American Express. For every $25 spent at participating businesses, shoppers will receive a raffle ticket. The raffle prizes are gift cards worth $100-$500 for use at any downtown store.
This opportunity can be extremely valuable for businesses that may still be growing or possibly those that are struggling. The campaign could be a chance for newer businesses to get their names out there as well.
Ultimately, there are multiple benefits for shoppers to participate in this. It can be seen as a deal. The customers are benefitting by getting a raffle ticket, and the businesses are benefitting by making sales.
The holidays are a great time to get out and shop small in downtown Huntsville. This campaign lasts up until December 1st.
