The Sam Houston State University women’s soccer team (0-3-0) had a rough match on the road that led to the team’s third straight loss in a 6-0 defeat against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs Thursday night.
The Bearkats were absolutely dominated in this game—allowing 34 shots with 16 being on target. On the other side of the ball, SHSU only took two shots the entire game.
The Bearkats seemed unorganized all night on both ends of the ball. The team’s slow play to start only held TCU off for 10 minutes as they opened up the scoring with a goal from forward Messiah Bright. She finished with two goals and two assists on the night.
The Kats then allowed a second goal one minute later to midfielder Yazmeen Ryan. After that the team was unable to find any sort of rhythm throughout the rest of the game.
SHSU’s first shot occurred in the 13th minute. The only other shot came in the 77th minute when it was too late to recover. TCU was able to score three goals in each half, which did not allow for any fighting chance for the Bearkats.
SHSU continues non-conference play against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Sept. 9 at Pritchett Field in Huntsville at 6:30 p.m.
